Geography at Robin Hood
At Robin Hood Primary School, we shape our Geography curriculum to ensure it inspires our children to become global citizens. Our aims are to fulfil the requirements of the National Curriculum; providing a broad and balanced curriculum; ensuring the progressive development of geographical concepts, knowledge and skills; and for the children to develop a love for geography.
Miss Stead is the Geography Lead at Robin Hood Primary School.
"I have been passionate about Geography since I was at school myself and wish to bring this passion to the children at Robin Hood Primary School.
To me, Geography is an essential part of the curriculum as it is what shapes our world. In our diverse society, children need, more than ever before, to understand other people and cultures. Geography makes a major contribution to children's physical, intellectual, social and emotional development.
Geography matters. Geography is fundamental in broadening children’s experiences, their understanding of the wonders of our world and giving them a broader knowledge that they can draw upon to help them achieve in other subjects and throughout their lives.
Teaching Geography equips children with knowledge about diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments, together with a deep understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes."
